This Universal Scosche FMDT1 shifter Style FM transmitter is a perfect accessory for any gadget lover and owner. With a digital display and multiple frequencies to transmit to, you'll also be able to charge any device that uses USB input to charge, and will also be able to transmit music through the 3.5mm audio input/output cable that is included.

Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product Comment: This device works well and looks good. Of course, an FM modulated device is never going to sound as good as a direct plug-in device, but in my experience, this one is far better than average in sound quality. I also like the hardware features such as the pivoting stem and easy to read blue-backlit display. The ability to charge USB devices is a super-nice feature that I didn't really appreciate until I needed it one time! And finally, I like the fact that the audio plug is not hard-wired like most others I've had ... so there is a much smaller potential that the device will be ruined when the cord gets accidentally wrapped around something and yanked when exiting from the vehicle (do you think maybe I did that once or twice with other similar products, eh?). Good job on this one, Scosche!
Customer Rating: Summary: looks cool and thats about it Comment: looks great, much more compact and its sleek design makes it more visually appealing. but it just doesn't work as well as the Belkin tunecast II. having the usb charger on the side is helpful, but I still need performance, and its got some just not enough to command a higher price than the tunecast II by belkin. happy hunting ladies and gentlemen
Customer Rating: Summary: With some improvements, could be great Comment: I've been using this product for a month now. I gave it 4 stars because my gripes are relatively minor. For one, on a sunny day the LCD screen can be almost impossible to read. I've had occasions where I've had to physically cup around the LCD in order to guess at what station I'm on. My other problem is with the uncomfortable placement of the USB port on the device. The port is right on the side of the device so I have to put my usb cable in it before I put it in the cigarette lighter. The usb cable will be bent all over after use.
The device however really works as it should. A few design flaws don't change that. Make sure to find a station with very little signal out on it already and you'll get nice sound. Not CD quality or anything but I think it's been better than the Griffin ipod car dock I used to have (that I can play my Zune, my old Ipod Nano, and my cousin's sirius portable).
I've attached the usb cable to an old usb hub I had laying around so I can power multiple devices on the very rare occasions that I do. I recommend using an old hub either way so you have your usb slots available to you at any time. Even an extender will do well for you.
If the manufacturer made one with a nicer LCD screen and a more comfortably place USB slot, I think they'd have a winning product just on the versatility alone.
