Customer Rating: Summary: Fantastic and Affordable Comment: Well I had this little guy for about a year and it was great, it sounded great, the battery lasted for about 8 hours, and it was affordable. This is a great option for people who just want something that can play music fabulously. The menu takes about five minutes to get used to and you can just plug it into the computer and drag and drop files on it very easily.
The Screen is bright enough for dark settings but sunlight completely drowns it. Also the miniSD card slot is a great way to increase the memory at low cost. BUY if you're looking for sturdy affordable alt. to the Ipod shuffle or anything else that says it sounds great and is cheap. Beware though this mp3 player doesn't get earshattering loud on the volume. just loud enough at times. but still a good buy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worst product ever. Comment: When I first came across this product I thought what a sensible alternative to the apple nano, hey it even has an FM receiver. I was even willing to overlook the one comment posted by another amazon user claiming the product was a dud. Well I am here to confirm that review, that this bit of silcon and plastic isn't worth the raw materials it is made from. While loading songs on the flash drive was easy, getting the unit to even turn on is not. It DOES not work as advertised, it DOES not work period. Had I the inclination and time I would have returned it. To be honest had I bought it from a store and not via the web I would have returned it immediately. Instead I am out the $45 or so I spent.
Please don't waste your money on this piece of c&@p. And I only gave it one star because it won't allow you to give zero stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: BAD NEWS Comment: Purchased two of these. One was DOA right out of the box. The other strung me along and actually let me waste a bunch of time loading music on it and stopped playing after the 3rd song.
Waiting on refund from Amazon
Customer Rating: Summary: Great device, but shuffle's not random! Comment: I bought one of these to listen to through Peltor hearing protectors while operating an excavator and bobcat. It worked great! I can listen to music while I operate machinery and my day cruises along. However, after the first time, I found that the "shuffle" feature plays the exact same songs, in the exact same order, every time you start the player. So, if I listen for 4 hours, then turn it off for lunch... well, after lunch it starts right back in to the same stuff I already heard the first half of the day. I have almost 400 songs on my Sansa (which is great!) but so far I'm only hearing the same few over and over. Major design flaw if you're like me and don't have your hands free to fiddle with the player often (choosing artists, etc.) during the day.
Sandisk, you have but to make your shuffle truly random (with song memory, so as not to repeat) and you will have a 5 star product!
Customer Rating: Summary: A Very Good Deal Comment: This MP3 player was my first step out of the CD-age. I have been looking to buy one for a long time, but quality MP3 players always seemed too expensive for my tiny budget. I was going to purchase an ipod, but the price was holding me back. I only needed a simple player. I wanted 2 gigs, but would have settled for 1, and a screen to view the song titles. Since it is my first MP3 player, I needed something that was user friendly as well. The Sansa Express was all this and, through Amazon, was at a very reasonable price. I fit about 450 songs on it, and I still have more songs to go, so I like that I can put a MicroSD card in for additional space. I have used it several times since I received it. I even tested it out on a 5 hour road trip. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that when I put it on "Shuffle All," during the long trip, i kept hearing back-to-back songs of the same artist (not too good it you'd like some variety in your listening entertainment), and I'd hear the same songs over since the device wouldn't play the entire memory before repeating. In my opinion, those are tiny inconveinces for the awsome quality at such a low price. I would reccomend this device to anyone looking for a first MP3 player. Two thumbs up!!!
