Summary: Good function, limited power
Comment: The unit works as advertised. The instructions are clear and it is easy to use. It seems to have limited power, as others have noted. It works OK in our Toyota Sienna, and we have to arrange the cable just right for it to work in our Saturn Ion.

Summary: Apparently a used item
Comment: I received my iTrip today from this seller and the device is quite obviously used, with scuffs on the unit indicating it had been inserted into a lighter before, scuffs on the middle section with the readout, and finger bends in the instruction booklet. Writing this review, it is late at night and I have not yet had a chance to try it out and see how it works. Unfortunately, I have read several reviews stating that it does not charge the second generation iPod Touch. I was not aware of that prior to my purchase. That would be terribly disappointing as that is what I have. At this point, it seems that either I will be exchanging it or getting a refund. I got it for a good price compared with the exorbitant amounts some people are paying for the same thing. So, if it very simply just works as described, I will be pleased. The three stars is earned from it having been used and subsequently not labeled as a used item.

Comment: This would have worked great if it had worked with my ipod touch-2nd generation. It doesn't charge (it does play though!) as was stated in the description. Hopefully they will change the description so that customers don't have to go through the hassle of returning items.

Summary: Must Have For Any iPod Owner
Comment: For the record, I am a bit of a technological lightweight, so all I can speak to is my experience using this device. I have the very common 4GB Nano and wanted this device so I could listen to audio books on long road trips.
So far, it was been a wonderful experience. In just a few minutes, I had everything set up and mastered the simple operations. I have driven through moderately-sized US cities in Kentucky (Lexington and Louisville) and had no problem finding clear channels to use (although I did have a change a few times). I am eager to try the advice of others about using the IN Mode.
An added advantage is that I no longer have to take my laptop with me to charge my iPod when traveling places where I wouldn't normally take my computer. Even if not being used to play through the car's stereo system, the adaptor still provides the second feature of charging the device.
