The legs are 7/8" steel, not 1" aluminum tubing and the centerblock is no kind of lexan that I've ever encountered. Notice that the description says it is for games 30" square or larger -- this is true. I overlooked this when following Amazon's "Better Together" recommendation of pairing it with a 28" square board game -- silly me. It WILL work with this game if you turn it upside down -- the stand, not the board game.
Also, bear in mind that at 36" high, game players are required to stand or be seated on bar stools. It is not height adjustable.
All said, I'm giving it One star, an average of Three stars for function and quality and Zero stars for false advertising. A pre-addressed, unpaid, return label is included which I am tempted to use for principle but the item is long and unwieldy and I just don't feel like going to the trouble of shipping it back -- also I'm not shelling out more cash for the privilege. It will be quite serviceable for my purpose after I hacksaw the legs to table height.
I had envisioned the beauty of 1" aluminum and am faced with dull, gray-painted steel. And as an added insult, the price just dropped $7.20 below what I paid a few days ago.
