Summary: Infrared remote sensor
Comment: An easy to use sensor. I can't believe how inexpensive these devices have
become. It is accurate and useful to determine temperatures to see where you are wasting or using energy. Something unexpected but extremely useful is determing the temperature of cooking oil in a frying pan. I know when to put in the meat or vegetables and now can control the heat and don't burn or smoke the oil.

Comment: This is a great tool to have around. I use it a couple of times a week for everything from checking the temperature inside the oven when cooking to checking the temperature of various components in the engine compartment of the car.

Comment: I bought the MiniTemp to check temperature everywhere when I've to go. In my house attic at day time in September is about 120 degree! I can imagine what is summer temperature in AZ in home attics! Other interesting things are to check my car tire temperature after my work commute and after some mountain drive. I like to know temperature everywhere when I'm going!

Comment: This is Alton Brown's fault. I bought the Raytek mainly for cooking, especially for cooking pizza on the grill. My grill's temperature gauge is more of an estimate, so I wanted to be able to measure how hot the pizza stone is before I put a pizza on. The Raytek works well and I've used it for several other purposes beyond its intended service.
