He's Just Not That Into You *

* the six little words that changed dating forever

For ages women have come together over coffee, cocktails, or late-night phone chats to analyze the puzzling behavior of men. Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo are here to say that -- despite good intentions -- you're wasting your time. Men are not complicated, although they'd like you to think they are. And there are no mixed messages.

The truth may be he's just not that into you.

Based on a popular episode of Sex and the City, He's Just Not That Into You educates otherwise smart women on how to tell when a guy just doesn't like them enough, so they can stop wasting time making excuses for a dead-end relationship.

The newly expanded edition includes:

• A new foreword by Greg

• A new chapter providing an honest look at the stages of lifeafter He's Just Not That Into You, according to Liz: exaltation, loneliness, temptation, and balance

• Greg's and Liz's answers to the most frequently asked questionsfrom readers

Summary: Apologies to Arlo Guthrie
Comment: (to the tune of "Alice's Restaurant")

...And friends, somewhere in America enshrined in some little bookstore, is a study in black and white of men's indiscretions and apathy.

And the only reason I'm telling you this now is cause you may know somebody in a similar situation, or you may be in a similar situation, and if your in a situation like that there's only one thing you can do and that's walk up to the guy you've been prostrating yourself and your goals for, just walk in say "You can get anything you want, just not at MY restaurant.". And walk out.

You know, if one person, just one person does it they may think she's really sick and will ignore the scenario. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony, they may think they're both lesbians and they'll write a little porn fantasy about it.

And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in
letting these men know we're onto them and walking out. They may think it's an organization.

And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day,I said
fifty people a day walking in telling them its cool you that I'm not a priority, because I'll get to find someone who will make me a priority and
walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.

And friends, that's what this is: the "'He's Just Not That Into Me' movement"!

----
It may take a bit, but you know, this may be feminism's endgame -- the one where we take our sanity back from the 'would be's' who are abusing our womanly sympathy, charms, and patience, all so they can feel like they aren't going to hurt us? Please. Men are going to find out how strong we are, and how sexless their lives can be if they don't a)get their priorities straight (which might not include include us, and that's cool), or b)grow a pair. And given the popularity of the book -- this may be sooner than later.

Summary: A Slap in the Face from Reality
Comment: This book was exactly what I thought it would be, not that I was disappointed. As women, we may not want to believe that a relationship didn't work out simply because 'he's just not into me'. Reading this book and seeing it from a different perspective made me realize how oh so wrong I was when it came to men. Period! I'm screaming at the book because some of these women are so stupid and blind! But then I stop and realize, "oh wait...that was me once". I would absolutely recommend this book to any of my girlfriends. It's comical, frank and exactly what I needed to hear! Like I said, a slap of reality in the face!

Summary: Very true.
Comment: Everything said in this book is true, and it's nice someone finally took the time to tell women to wake up and stop moping over guys who "just aren't that into you!"

Summary: A book on how to avoid shallow, tawdry men...
Comment: ...If you're not a bimbo yourself.

Someone should also write a book on how to avoid shallow, tawdry women.

Summary: Great Book if You are Ready for Reality
Comment: Let's face it - waiting for the phone to ring is a BIG waste of time. This book is a great reminder that I am worth more than just hanging out or settling for an occasional e mail! I want my man to TAKE me out, treat me with respect and show a genuine interest in ME. I plan to keep this book in a handy place for reference for those times when my heart wants to take over and obscures what I really need to be seeing. Yeah, reality really stinks but it sure is better to face the truth than to waste a lot of time hoping that things will change.

This book is presented in a lighthearted and sometimes hilarious way while serving as a real eye opener. I would definitely recommend it to any gal who finds herself in the dating pool and to the guys out there who might want to know what NOT to do.
